The Friends Celebrate Larry Thurrell's Service

On Monday, February 10, 2020 the Friends of the Hockessin Library Board honored long-time volunteer, Board member, and Book Sale Chair Larry Thurrell for his over 25 years of service to the Library and the Friends. During his tenure the book sale has raised more than $500,000 for the Library. His many accomplishments also include leading the fund raising for the Library addition and reading garden. The reading garden will be named in Larry's honor.

Also In recognition of his accomplishments, Diana Brown, Manager of Libraries, presented Larry with a County Proclamation declaring Monday, February 10, 2020 "Lawrence Thurrell Day" in New Castle County.

Thank you, Larry, for all you have done to support the Hockessin Library!

Reading Garden Watering
Voluteers Needed
 
  Would you like to spend a quiet hour in the Library Reading Garden helping to keep it looking beautiful with very little effort?

The Friends of the Hockessin Library need your help to water the Garden once a week from July through September.

Choose your week(s) and day and provide your contact information at info@friendsofthehockessinlibrary.org.

A Board member will be in touch with you to explain where to find the hose and how to use the water key.

Volunteers will receive an $8 coupon to use at the January 2021 Used Book Sale.
